The Alley of Secrets is one of the most fortified and mysterious alleyways in the old city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon, dating back to the Mamluk era. This historic alleyway is distinguished by its unique defensive architecture and its labyrinthine design. Connection Point: The alleyway connects the Al-Mahatra neighborhood and Aqabat Khader Agha in the heart of old Tripoli. It is characterized by its narrowness, length, and numerous twists, making it seem endless to those who walk through it. This alleyway served as the residence of high-ranking commanders and officers of the Mamluk army. Defensive Fortification: It was designed as a complex labyrinth to hinder any external military attack. It was once said that "whoever enters it is lost" due to the difficulty of exiting or attacking it.
