About
It is one of Tripoli's largest khans with an area of 2792 sq2. It is believed that it was built in the days of the Mamluks and then renewed by the Turkish Minister Muhammad Al-Dabtardar Al-Tamassili during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Salim. The Khan preserved its Mamluk architectural details, such as muqarnasat and cavities, in the four corners in the upper galleries.
