Built in the fourteenth century AD under the reign of the Mamluk Sultan Nasir Qalawun, it is located in the Dabbagh area on the west bank of the Abu Ali River near the famous Khan al-Askar. The name of the mosque is said to be a novel about the engineer who built the great Mansuri Mosque and stole part of the funds allocated for its construction. It was relatively devoid of decoration. After the Sultan discovered the building of this mosque to atone for his sin, Because of its position on the river bank was damaged by the floods more than once, and there is a plaque in the history of a flood dating from 1021 AH. And renewed in the mandate of Prince Hussein bin Yusuf Sifa. The mosque is relatively modest in comparison to the other Mamluk mosques of Tripoli in terms of space, luxury and decoration. It is characterized by a hexagonal minaret and its small small dome from the outside and its exquisite interior.
